Actually, the Channing "family" has been falling apart for years but it all comes to head when questions arise about Bard's business dealings. I could have easily given this book a 5 star rating, but it was really irritating how at one point I'm reading about 2 characters, and in the same line the characters/story changes. A wonderfully engaging tale of the struggle to move past loss and ignorance and make a better place for oneself in a hard and unyielding world. He needs to tell Livia, because how can the party go on? Wow, this was a real stinker. This sounds like an interesting read. How wonderful Ashley, hope you liked her other book. I skimmed through to the end to see how it would end and to see if she would ever wake up. Start by marking “The Dilemma” as Want to Read: Error rating book. It is filled with lovely English phrases and I am a total Anglophile.

For me, it didn't have the "wow" factor because i have read it before like i said and i don't know why i put it on reserve at the library. The plot is not a complex one, yet you find yourself turning the pages with trepidation desperately hoping that things will work out as the party draws near for the characters that Paris has invited you to love. I got so many and they all got mixed up when I moved and I had no system where 'these are read' and 'there are to be read', which makes things so confusing! This book is really interesting, from your review it is clear the depth of the book as well as what reminds me of what I love to read. You will be hooked by the decisions that have to be made, the hearts which are poised to be broken and the level of secrecy that will make you turn the pages, hoping that relationships can be salvaged and lives will not be destroyed forever.
As their lives spin out of control, all the relationships are forced to be re-evaluated.

It didn't really make sense to me. Everything I've ready by this author who I happened to stumble upon, is good. This was a looong book but it was one of those can't put it down and what is going to happen next sort of story-line. Refresh and try again. A few pages into The Dilemma, the relentless theme of the Perry Mason show pulsed in my brain. It is her one opportunity to be self-indulgent; to make up for the sacrifices she has made and the past which sneaks up and plays mind games with her. Vincenzi has the ability to weave incredibly complex storyline around each other and still manage to tie up all the loose ends very elegantly. Possibly, it started with the fact that there was no character list at the beginning...and with 600 or so pages, it's really kind of essential. All opinions are our own. But, again, I love her :), Meh boring I didn't even make it to chapter 5 all the characters are boring and dull. Very disappointing.
